Accounting Assistant

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of public practice in Australian accounting.
  • Experience with SMSFs (preferred).
  • Financial planning experience (highly regarded).
  • Proficiency with Class Super.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs
  • Manage the day-to-day administration and compliance of the firm's SMSF portfolio using Class Super.
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and GST returns.
  • Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation for review and lodgement.
  • Ensure all financial reports and tax returns comply with Australian accounting and taxation regulations.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
  • Liaise with clients and internal team members to obtain information and resolve queries.
  • Meet reporting deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with other accounting and taxation matters as required.
  • Perform other bookkeeping and compliance-related tasks as require
